  • Board dents can result in bad coverage
  • Increasing Squeegee pressure on the screening machines may help
  • Typically, small area, but deep dents are the problem.


Screening - Warp

  • Main issue is moisture leaving the board.
  • UV drying applies energy which removes moisture
  • Multi-pass machines create the largest challenges
  • In-line machines are better
  • Must manage cure level and UV energy input effectively
  • RARELY a problem.

    • Excessive UV drying can create cracking in the die-cuttign process


Direct Print – Some Comments

  • Direct print saves cost of the litho paper and backing paper
  • Also eliminates the laminating process(s)
  • These savings can be offset by the cost of the print itself
  • Lithographic prints (roll-to-roll) can be superior in quality (more easily controlled process)
